Hello!
I am a design strategist and design researcher who is looking to improve how our systems are designed. Work, school, government, infrastructure: these are all designed things, which can and should be redesigned to better care for us as humans, especially those historically marginalized. I’m a firm believer that we also need to consider our world in how we design, namely the flora and fauna who call this place home, as we make choices for the future.
I currently work as a Design Strategist at Booz Allen Hamilton where I design conversations to engage diverse stakeholders and foster co-creation in an effort to address our Federal Government’s biggest challenges. With a Master of Arts in Social Design from Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), my thesis project centered on how work can be redesigned. I have a diverse background with experience in teaching, working with government, and collaborating in diverse teams.
I am also a photographer, poet, writer, educator, fiber artist, and facilitator.
Things I’m fascinated by right now:
︎ How trees talk through mushrooms
︎ The movement of slime molds
︎ How algae figured out how to be on land through biogenesis in lichens
︎ The way dolphins teach their friends how to use tools
︎ The way cowpaths are formed in vacant lots
︎ Liminal Spaces
